Karen Marston began hosting Muse Fuse,
NURTUREart’s monthly art salon, in her studio in the Fall of 2002 and joined the board of this grassroots non-profit shortly thereafter. She was instrumental in the opening of the NURTUREart Gallery in 2003 which has ushered in a period of exciting expansion for the organization. Karen currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees.
Muse Fuse was started in 2000 to give NURTUREart’s artists an opportunity to meet and form a community. It has since become a popular forum for the exchange of ideas and pooling of resources, providing professional education, support, and networking. Meetings feature an impressive variety of notable guest speakers from the forefront of the art world. Recent speakers have included: Omar Lopez-Chahoud, Mira Schor, Edward Winkleman and Ursula von Rydingsvard, to name just a few.
Muse Fuse is only one of several excellent programs offered by NURTUREart including an Artists Registry featuring hundreds of emerging artists, the NURTUREart Gallery, presenting a full season of exhibitions by emerging curators utilizing the registry, and an Education Outreach program bringing artists and curators into local schools.
